Welcome Message

Dear Seniors, Colleagues and Friends,

Warm Greetings from AMPICON 2022 Team!
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, It is our honor and privilege to invite you all to the 43rd Annual National Conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPICON 2022), which is organized by the Department of Radiation Oncology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi on 05-07th November, 2022 at JLN Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi. The theme of the conference is “Medical Physics Research and Practice in the Era of Precision Medicine”.

Medical Physics is a branch of Applied Physics that uses physics principles, methods and techniques in practice and research for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases with a specific goal of improving human health and well-being. Medical Physicists are health professionals and most of them are working as practitioners, scientists and teachers in the field of radiation medicine such as Radiation Oncology, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to ensure the quality, safety and effective use of radiation for diagnosis and treatment for patient care.

The AMPICON is an annual of conference of Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPI), which was established in the year 1976 at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. Currently there are around 3000 members are practicing across the country and also globally. The main objective of AMPI is to advance science of medical physics and to disseminate the knowledge among the members in order to improve the service of patient care to the population of our country.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established in 1956 as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches in India. AIIMS JLN Auditorium is a centrally located, spacious and well maintained auditorium. It has seating capacity of approximately 700 guests along with conference Hall in the first floor.

Delhi, India’s capital territory, is a massive metropolitan area in the country’s north. Delhi has many historical monuments like Qutab Minar (the world’s tallest brick minaret), Humayun Tomb, Old Fort (Purana Qila), Jama Masjid, Jantar Mantar, Red Fort, Tuglaqabad Fort, Lotus Temple, Rashtrapati Bhavan & India Gate etc. It is surrounded with major IT and cyber hub cities like Gurgaon and Noida. Delhi is counted as the fifth most populated urban area in the world. Delhi has a mixed culture as people of all communities and religions live here.

We welcome you all to India’s capital city in the pleasant month of November for what promises to be an exciting scientific feast at the country premier medical institute for AMPICON 2022 at New Delhi.
